Pre-Purchase Questions?
Will I have access to all the lessons right away?
Yes! You’ll have access to everything within minutes of signing up. The lessons are designed to be learned in sequence, each one building on the last. That’s what is strongly recommended if you’re serious about learning as much as possible. But the choice is yours.
What version of Pro Tools is used for the lessons?
Pro Tools 8 on a Mac. Since many of the core features taught in the lessons have been in Pro Tools for many years, you’ll benefit from the lessons even if you use PT6, PT7, or PT9. Pro Tools 8 is ideal though since some lessons apply exclusively to features available from Pro Tools 8 and higher.
I use Windows. Will these lessons help me?
Yes. The lessons apply to Pro Tools for Windows and OSX. During the lessons shortcuts and tips are taught for both Mac and Windows.
Can I download the videos?
No. PTTUTS videos are streamed online. We believe this the best delivery system for making the lessons accessible and affordable
How long do I have access to the lessons?
Your account is active for one year from sign up. Basically, there’s about 20 hours of lessons. Go through the lessons you want, then go work in Pro Tools and experiment with what you’ve learned. Then, come back and review the lessons, and so on. The idea is that the lessons are here when you need them without the pressure of trying to learn everything overnight.
What are the requirements for this site?
A current generation PC running Firefox, Safari, IE8+ or Chrome. You must have the latest version of flash (if you’re able to watch the videos on this site so far – you’re set) and you should have a broadband internet connection.
What experience level do I need to have already?
Basic computer experience and some music abilities will help. But the training is meant for beginner to intermediate users. The lessons are written as though you’re brand new to Pro Tools and digital audio workstations.
